The Chairperson of the Legal Practice Council, Ms K Matolo-Dlepu invites Legal Practitioners to apply to serve on the Panel of Attorneys and Advocates as legal drafters to enable the Council to meet its objects in terms of the Legal Practice Act.

The Legal Practice Council (“LPC”) is a national, statutory body established in terms of section 4 of the Legal Practice Act, No 28 of 2014 as amended. The Legal Practice Council and its Provincial Councils regulate the affairs of and exercise jurisdiction over all legal practitioners (attorneys and advocates) and candidate legal practitioners.

Council regularly identifies proposed amendments to the Legal Practice Act, its Rules, Code of Conduct and any other policies as its seeks to make it easy for legal practitioners to practice. The Council requires a panel of advocates and attorneys who specializes in legal drafting in different fields of law and who have at least 5 years post admission drafting experience.

A team of drafters will be appointed nationally. Legal Practitioners are invited to submit their CVs identifying their area of specialty to the following e-mail [email protected]. Applicants must be in good standing with the Legal Practice Council to be considered.
