INVITATION FOR APPOINTMENT AS EXAMINERS ON BEHALF OF THE LEGAL PRACTICE COUNCIL

The Chairperson of the Legal Practice Council, Ms K Matolo-Dlepu invites Legal Practitioners to apply to serve on the Panel of Examiners as per the provisions of section 28 (3) of the Legal Practice Act. The appointed examiners will be required to conduct the drafting of examination papers, assessments of the admission, conveyancing and notarial practice examinations.

REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

ADMISSION EXAMINATIONS

  • Must have paid all amounts due to the LPC and must be in good standing;
  • Must have practised as an attorney / advocate for not less than seven (7) years;

CONVEYANCING

  • Must have practised as a conveyancer for not less than seven (7) years

NOTARY

  • Must have practised as a notary for not less than seven (7) years

All of the above appointments will be for a period of three years. The Council reserves the right to not make an appointment if it so deems necessary.

Council will take into account the demographics of the Republic in its appointment process.

RATES

The rates payable to the Examiners for drafting will be the amount of R3 500 for each paper.

The rates payable to the Examiners for assessments will be R180 per script or anamount of R500 per hour in respect of oral assessments.
